In the month of August, Crossroads kicked off its’ first Food Service Training Course or Cooking with Crossroads, for which we enrolled 5 participants. The course included public health safety and regulations, cutting techniques, menu development, hands-on-meal preparation, kitchen etiquette, and ServSafe training and testing, just to name a few.

Without Crossroads people who are homeless wouldn’t get any help or have a place to go where they are treated with dignity, respect, and kindness. I know because I have been there in my life where I was homeless, needed help and sometimes felt mistreated.

Five days a week the volunteers of Crossroads deliver mail, provide over 200 warm meals, distribute toiletry kits, build sandwiches and provide individual job training counseling. And, we truly could not have served as many clients as we did in 2017 without the help of our volunteers. As we springboard into the new year, we want to take a moment to showcase and applaud our volunteers who went above and beyond in 2017.

Veterans, thank you for your service!
Each day many of the people who come through the doors of Crossroads are living on the streets, or in shelters and lacking the foothold to find their place as productive citizens. The first point person for many
of these guests, is Rhonda Green, a case manager at Crossroads, who manages our front desk and daily delivers an attitude of gratitude to our guests.
