Thanks to special funding, for over two years Crossroads has been providing housing solutions through two programs: The Renewal Program, working specifically with women and children, and Angels Over Atlanta, focusing on permanent supportive housing for men with mental and/or physical disabilities.

Permanent Supportive Housing for Women/Children

Through extended case management, essential services can include:

  • Transitioning women and children from homelessness into safe, affordable, permanent apartments
  • Assisting women and children in the Housing Solutions Program to secure basic furnishings and essentials for their new home
  • Providing online courses and computers to enable them to acquire specialized training
  • Providing an Individual Service Plan (ISP), ongoing Case Management and as-needed supportive services to help each woman move toward achieving her specific goals

Through lessons learned, Crossroads knows that simply placing women earning minimum wage into affordable housing is not the complete solution.  In the absence of living-wage income, the women and their families will forever struggle.  Crossroads’ overall definition of success is that each woman is able to sustain her housing, living-wage employment and overall wellbeing for one year.

Currently all housing is private apartments.  Crossroads does not currently utilize HUD funding to support its housing solutions for women and children.
